Keynote Speaker PD Dr. Frank Sauer

PD Dr. Frank Sauer is one of Germany’s leading experts on international security, military technology and the future of warfare. As Head of Research at the Metis Institute for Strategyand Foresight at the Bundeswehr University Munich, he combines deep academic expertise with extensive policy experience and a broad international network.

Born in 1980, he studied Political Science, Sociology, Philosophy and Law at Goethe University Frankfurt, where he also received his doctorate. He later completed his habilitation atthe Bundeswehr University Munich and has been a private lecturer in Political Science since 2023.

His areas of expertise include nuclear weapons and deterrence, artificial intelligence and robotics in the military, autonomous weapons systems, and the impact of emerging technologieson international security. Frank Sauer is also an award-winning researcher, author and co-host of the renowned podcast Sicherheitshalber. He is a much sought-after keynote speaker, media commentator and dialogue partner for decision-makers, international organisations and audiences across Europe.

Keynote Speaker Jonas Muff

Jonas Muff is Founder and CEO of Vara, a Berlin-based company using artificial intelligence to transform breast cancer screening. Founded in 2018, Vara has become one of Germany’s leading screening and diagnostic providers, driven by a mission to make screening more effective, measurable, and accessible for at-risk women worldwide.
Prior to founding Vara, Muff was a member of the founding team at Merantix, Europe’s first AI venture studio, where Vara was originally incubated. Earlier in his career, he served as President of START Global, helping to scale the START Summit into one of Europe’s leading technology conferences.
Muff was named in Forbes 30 Under 30 in 2022 and holds a BA from the University of St. Gallen.
